In December 2016 , I came across a news on my TV set - "NDTV was to go off air for 24 hours". It did not happen as the 24 hour off air ban imposed by the government was not effected. The reason for this ban was said to be showing pictures of sensitive areas of Pathankot Airforce base during a debate show which was as per the government a possible security threat/leakage. It appeared in the post reports that government took a generous stand and considered the clarifications of NDTV and lifted the ban.
A few days ago a ruling party spokesperson on a live debate show accused NDTV of running an Agenda which was refuted strongly by the Anchor Ms. Nidhi Razdan and asked him to take back the words and apologise. The ruling party spokesperson refused and sounded disrupting the debate. The anchor made him off air. (As mentioned in various media reports available on web)
on 5th June 2017 NDTV co - chairperson and founder Mr. Pranay Roy's residence and other places were raided by CBI on an allegation of denting a loss of Rs. 48 Crores to ICICI Bank. NDTV showed its clarifications regarding the issue and also added in its public statement that such acts of establishment shall not make them cow down to their ethics and principles to which they stand for. Thre was a clarification from one Union Cabinet Minister denying the act of raid as intentional.
A good section of social, political and media activists criticised and condemned the CBI raid on NDTV founder and co - chairperson. As usual there were abundant support for the CBI raid in favour of the act in all possible languages(!).
One article published on web caught my attention specifically.It said that a media house is nothing more than a "News Trader" as such it need to be viewed as routine activity of CBI as CBI and other government agencies conduct raids on any other trader viz - jewellary house , a grocery trader or any other of that structure.
For me as a conscoius viewer and reader therefore it is tasting time. The "Trader Logic" gives me the reason to say that a medical doctor is a medical trader, a lawyer is a law trader, a teacher is a education trader,a soldier is a security trader,and a politician is a power trader and so on and so forth. Within no minute the trader logic passed through my eyes it started hammering my intelect. Such Chhole - Chaat comments are really tasteworthy! Oh my God , it really brought tears in my eyes due to its hot red chilliness and tamarind sour flavour. So friends taste it till you bear it!
Testing Time. Yes it is. It is a testing time for the reason that whether you will prefer a borrowed voice or not. It is a testing time for the reason whether you will believe what is showed or told or what you see and tell. It is a testing time for the reason whether what you want to be or what you are made to be. It is a testing time for the reason whether dissent deserves space or not. It is a testing time for the reason whether it is important good to be god or god to be good. It is testing time for the reason whether civilian killing is just or not. And it is testing time also for the reason whether important is an ask or a stoic mask. We are committed to test the test.
It is indeed an interesting time to me. The prevailing ambience is reinventing me everyday. Thank you all participant. I am hopeful I shall reinvent myself sooner than later. Yes I will. I have to.
Tonguing the taste and testing the test shall bring to me interesting time. What about you?
